Our Farm and Vision

My first trip and visit to this 60 acre farm in the village of Scotland Halfmoon, Belize which is also located in the middle of The Community Baboon Sanctuary was back in 1997.

From the moment I arrived here it felt like home and then in 2003 I purchased my home here. And in 2018 I realized my dream from my very first trip to this farm; I purchased the majority of the farm.

Our farm is 42 acres that was originally pasture land for cattle and sheep that has since mostly become overgrown with thick jungle bush and trees. Over the past 6 years or so we have planted almost 500 coconut trees for the future. In the future we are thinking about raising a few sheep to help keep the grass down around the coconut trees. We are also planning a chicken coop, a raised vegetable garden and possibly producing honey on the farm. In 2019 we named the farm River View Farm and Retreat.

RENT OUR HOME

All rent monies collected on the farm are used for the day to day maintenance of the farm and to help employ local Belizeans. The rent monies collected never leaves the country of Belize.

Reviews

“Arie house was outstanding! When we arrived it was clean and well-equipped, and Dan the Caretaker was extremely helpful in acquainting us with the house and its amenities. The surrounding property is beautiful, and bird-watching from the deck was a favorite morning activity for all of us. As far as I can tell, there just aren’t many places that are available right on the banks of the Belize River, at that location made it really special. I loved hearing howler monkeys every morning and evening, seeing spiny and green iguanas in the trees, and turtles on the road in. This place is paradise for lovers of wildlife!”
